This is a truly awesome dollhouse. I ordered a Bluey house and characters for my daughter a few years back and she loved it! She played with it often but we quickly noticed, if she tried to add anything extra or rearrange anything, nothing seemed to fit anymore. This has been a common issue with dollhouses in the past, the dollhouse looks cool, but the reality is they are usually just too small. So after finding the Bluey house I realized I would need to keep an eye out for a larger dollhouse and coming across this one was fantastic! This house is incredibly versatile and gives many options for play. When I opened the box holding the house pieces, I was just so excited!This setup includes the frames for four rooms or floors, 6 floor plates, 14 railings, 1 semicircle patio, 4 battery operated lights, one ladder, and 6 ivy and rose garlands that can be wrapped around any of the railings. This was fairly simple to assemble, it had such intricate attention to detail as well as being versatile. The house can be set up to a square shape as shown in the ad images- two floors at angle, connected by the semicircle patio, with the other two floors atop. Another way to set it up it is to place the bottom two floors side by side with the top two floors on that, creating a flat front 180 degree view of the house. You can then use the railings and floor plates on the front or back of the house depending on your preferences for set up. There are other options for set up, but this is really up to your child’s creativity and imagination. The first thing I really liked about this house is the many kinds of toys that can be used with it. We have used a mix of Bluey Characters, Calico Critters, Stikbots and a selection of furniture from dollhouses over the years.It can fit so many things, and the kids really enjoyed setting it up and playing with it. I was so impressed with the detailing of the house, the floor plates are stamped with texture like actual wood flooring and when used on a second story the “ceiling” tiles are embossed with lovely flowers and vines to add some charming accents. The lights included are small plastic globes that can be inserted into grooves in the ceiling to safely mount them. Each light has a small black switch which is easy to turn off and on for convenience of use. One thing to note here is there were small white strips blocking the batteries from being active during travel and storage, however when we turned on the lights, two of the four didn’t fully light up. One was completely burnt out and the other one only turned on in flickers and dances eventually burning out. At first I thought the batteries were loose, but upon further inspection it seemed as though the strips had slipped out of place and caused the battery power to drain. Now this isn’t enough to keep me from leaving this a good review, but considering how expensive watch batteries are (each light needs 3 batteries) this felt significant enough to point out. I am certainly happy with the way this dollhouse is made, the sturdiness of the materials, the attention to detail and even this price point. At the time of order this was around $50 and truthfully it is worth the investment. At the time of writing this review DollsByDorcel had no featured offers available and I’m not sure what that will mean for price when or if it returns.What I will say is, this has earned a five star rating for me. My only real issue with this setup is it’s not super easy to take apart once assembled and because the four sections of the house don’t securely snap together, this can be a bit awkward for storage and display. Other than the storage issue, I really don’t have any complaints with this dollhouse.In summary, It’s sturdy, quality and beautifully detailed, the pieces are all strong and made well. My favorite thing about it is the size and the lights. I’m giving this a five star rating but I will certainly update if anything changes.
