Description This block takes you through the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights. Students can begin the unit with a Timeline Activity for the American Revolutionary period. Then a 17-page unit on the Declaration of Independence with lessons on creating a paper and cardboard puppet show as well as a video on declaring our independence from Great Britain. Finally, a 24-page unit on the Bill of Rights, video on ratifying them, and an assignment to write and perform a skit for and against the need for a Bill of Rights completes this important time in United States history. Three videos are included with this lesson.
