Planner Eight (March) First Grade Lessons: Math, Handwork, Pentatonic Recorder & More

Description Note: Once you have completed Planner One you can do the rest of the year’s planners in any order. Holiday and seasonal activities for March are included in Planner Eight. However, they are provided as extras so if you are living in an area of the world where the season is different or you don’t celebrate a certain holiday you will not be left out – you will still have a full month of activities! SPECIFICS: In Planner Eight students will continue to learn about the four processes of math and will learn some stories unique to Earthschooling that introduce them to the four processes of math from a seasonal and temperament perspective. Students already learned about “math gnomes” in Block Six. This month they will go beyond math gnomes and continue to practice what they have learned about the four processes of math. The numbers 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 will also be explored in greater detail. Students will knit a purse, will make a “sprite in a shell” and will complete other handwork projects as well. Students will learn two new pentatonic recorder songs using the unique Earthschooling method and will continue to enjoy wonderful stories and verses each week. This monthly planner also comes with mp3s for the basic verses, mp3s for the monthly verses, and three teacher support documents: Waldorf 101, My Waldorf Year Planner and Waldorf Basics.
