Planner Three (October) First Grade Lessons: Form Drawing, Alphabet, Knitting & Science

Description Note: Once you have completed Planner One you can do the rest of the year’s planners in any order. Holiday and seasonal activities for October are included in Planner Three. However, they are provided as extras so if you are living in an area of the world where the season is different or you don’t celebrate a certain holiday you will not be left out – you will still have a full month of activities! SPECIFICS: In Planner Three students learn about curved line symmetry in form drawing and will work on a form drawing/science project. Students also learn about the letters H, L, C, K, S, Z, G, J through original and creative stories, verses, activities and actions. Students will learn a new pentatonic recorder song this month using the unique and easy Earthschooling method, will learn to knit a triangle and a headband, will explore the stories Nimble Fingers as well as some other new knitting stories, will work with a lucet, and will learn how to cook four special things including Pita Bread. Students will also make a beautiful traditional Waldorf lantern this month. Students will enjoy many wonderful stories this month as always. Pictures are included with each lesson to guide the teacher. Themes this month include: Birds, Explorers & Adventurers, The Multicultural World & Darkness This monthly planner also comes with mp3s for the basic verses, mp3s for the monthly verses, and three teacher support documents: Waldorf 101, My Waldorf Year Planner and Waldorf Basics.
